Church Of The Ascension Youth Ministry

At the Ascension parish we recognize that it takes a village to raise a youth. We believe that a strong, active youth program forms the values and confidence of our future adults. Our Youth Ministry Program uses social activities, study groups, music, and art and community service to aid in the building-up of teens in our neighborhood. We also believe that confident, active and engaged youth are an asset to this community. In order to achieve this goal last year our youth planned a trip to Nogales, Mexico to build homes and social service. This year we are planning a social service trip to Kingston Jamaica, to work with social service charities, and also have interactions with other youth groups in a different country. This trip will help our youth to understand more how great it is to live in the United States of America and also appreciate all the opportunities they have.

Wish List: LCD projector and screen, laptop with DVD player, a digital camera, sports and recreational equipment such as basketballs, volley balls, board games; a sponsorship a youth for service trip to Kingston, Jamaica in July 2009.
