Founded in 1980 by community advocates and social service professionals as one neighborhood location for elder services on the Upper West Side, One Stop provides direct access to free professional help with entitlement, housing, legal, financial and consumer issues, applications and emergencies. The atmosphere is respectful, inviting and attentive to cultural diversity. Representatives from government agencies such as the Human Resources Administration and Social Security Administration are on site. One Stop Support Program resolves financial, physical and psychological abuse, helping senior victims and their families improve the quality of their lives.
